VINALHAVEN — Students and staff at Vinalhaven School were evacuated from the building Friday, March 13 at 8 a.m. due to a propane smell. 

A bus was running outside the campus to provide warmth for students without coats, according to school officials. 

Within 40 minutes, the all clear was given by medical responders and all members of the school were allowed to return to the building.
