A top 10 finalist, Meyer in hunt to be named Tennis Channel’s top tennis coach
A prominent man in the Midcoast tennis scene has been nominated and selected as a Top 10 coach in the country, and is vying to be voted as the America’s Top Coach through a contest presented by Tennis Channel’s Topspin.
Seth Meyer has been tennis director and head pro at the Midcoast Recreation Center in 2005, and runs two benefit tournaments annually with his family.
He has previously been recognized by USTA New England as tennis family of the year in 2018, and by the Maine Tennis Association as tournament director of the year in 2012, 2013 and 2016. He received the humanitarian award from the MTA in 2018.
“What I love about coaching is the impact you can have on others and the connections that are made,” Myer told the Tennis Channel. “Building relationships with those that I coach is so rewarding and it makes days on court so fun.”
There are two rounds of voting, a round to whittle the list down to 10 finalists and then a round to crown a top coach from the 10 finalists.
The Top 10 coaches receive one-year paid USPTA or PTR membership dues, plus special edition Tennis Channel apparel, Amazon gift cards, a one-year subscription to Tennis Channel Plus, and prize packs for their home clubs.
Meyer has been named as a Top 10 coach thanks to receiving enough votes from Mainers.
The Top Coach Grand Prize winners will be featured on Tennis Channel, tennis.com, Tennis Magazine, and receive a $500 Amazon gift card.
Participating voters will be entered to win prizes, as well, for voting.
Final round voting begins April 19 and continues through May 2.
