'Through a Prism: Paintings by Evgenii Semenikhin' opening reception in Camden
CAMDEN — The Camden Public Library welcomes internationally known artist Evgenii Semenikhin for an exhibit of his paintings titled “Through a Prism” in the Picker Room Gallery during the month of February*.
The public is invited to an opening reception Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 4 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
Evgenii Semenikhin is a painter originally from Russia. His works have been exhibited and are collected in China, Japan, South Korea, and Russia. He currently resides in Hope.
“My fantasy responds only to what I have seen in life, to what I have personally experienced," said Semenikhin, in a news release. "Studying landscapes, objects in still life, or models, I discover multiple angles, facets, and planes that, when represented simultaneously on a canvas, provide a springboard to expanded and enriched understanding of the world around us.
"The image is thus not the goal but rather a means of revealing meaning. Canvases live their own lives – they might move in different planes, draw you into their depths, or, on the contrary, blind you with energy. I invite all to view the paintings in this exhibit and to join in conversation with them.”
