Thomaston Grammar recognizes kindness in 2024
During the month of September, students at Thomaston Grammar School have been focusing on kindness. Several students at Thomaston Grammar School were recognized for showing kindness at a school-wide assembly on October 2.
Kindness Awards were presented to Jaxon Gage, Adelaide Walsh, Noa Silverstein, Vivien Hedstrom, Tucker O’Hare, Ryleigh Gagnon, Wyatt Hendron, Matthew Hawkins, Essie Ross, Trenton Adams, Derrick Corson, Evelyn Fish, Wyatt Earley, Justin Chen, Juliette Johnson, and LoriLei Grout. These students are consistently known to show kindness.
Being kind includes using kind words and actions, helping others without expecting anything in return, following the rules and expectations in the school and greater community, including everyone in work and in play, sharing with others, and so much more.
Throughout the month, students were awarded daily tickets for showing kindness. These tickets were put into a raffle and six lucky winners were drawn at the assembly. Winners received their choice of a prize, including gift cards donated by local businesses. This month’s winners were: Brycen Carr, Ruby Benedict, Ivy Gamage, Adelaide Walsh, Hailey Ames, and Hayden Gagnon.
Trenton Adams was also presented with the Principal’s Award. Trenton is a marvelous member of the Thomaston Grammar School community.
Trenton quietly and consistently does the right thing. He is safe, kind, and is his best self always. He is consistently respectful and perseveres to do his very best. He is a wonderful team player and is willing to work with others and help others, often without being asked to do so. He exemplifies what it means to be an excellent member of our amazing school community.
The assembly concluded with a pumpkin relay race. Four teams competed against each other by balancing a pumpkin on their heads, running from one cone to another. The first two teams to have everyone complete the challenge had a chance to play in the final round. In the end, it was the blue team that won. Congratulations to the winners: Miss Barbie, Justin Chen, Alyvia Baughman, Matthew Hawkins, and Adelaide Walsh.
Next month, students at TGS will be focusing on respect.
Congratulations to all the students and staff who received awards at TGS this month!
