CAMDEN — The Camden Public Library welcomes singer-songwriter and music teacher Alice Limoges for an musical afternoon on Saturday, March 23, in the Picker Room. There will be a songwriting workshop at 1 p.m., followed by a studio recital at 3 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public. Pre-registration for the workshop is encouraged.

Those interested in songwriting can sign up for Limoges’ 90-minute songwriting workshop. All levels and backgrounds are welcome; beginners can learn the basics of songwriting, and seasoned writers can pick up some new techniques.

“There will be several of Alice’s finest songwriting students on deck to give everyone individual attention,” said CPL, in a news release.

Please register online beforehand at bit.ly/aliceCPL or librarycamden.org.

A studio recital will follow at 3 p.m., featuring Limoges and her music students of all ages. The performance will include original songs, musical theater, and covers, as well as a performance of several of Limoges’ original songs. Light refreshments will be served.

Born and raised on a mountain by the sea in coastal Maine, Alice Limoges was singing before she could walk. With roots grounded in the folk, jazz, and rock traditions of her childhood, Limoges’ journey led her through seven years in the New York City music scene before the pandemic guided her back to Maine in 2020.

“Her artistry is marked by her distinct voice, visceral songwriting abilities, and a spirit reminiscent of a classic troubadour,” said the release.
