CAMDEN — Dancing With the Local Stars will hold its annual show on April 10, at the Camden Opera House. Working with Kinetic Energy Alive and Swing and Sway dance studio, nine local stars will take the stage to perform. PenBay Pilot took a sneak peak at one of the recent rehearsals.

The nine local stars are Matt Bixby, Owen Casas, Ben Curtis, Heather Hearst, Betsy Kingsley, Craig Ouellette, Erin Ovalle, Polly Saltonstall and Lucinda Ziesing.

Kea Tesseyman, of Kinetic Energy Alive, works with the local stars to help perfect their dance routines. Swing and Sway’s Christian Clayton, Jessica Libby and Steven Dones-Rogers do the same. The skills, emotion and all the practice is evident in the numbers for the show.

Andrea Vassallo, grants and communications manager at Wayfinder Schools, works with the dance committee to find stars and sponsors.

“We work with Kinetic Energy Alive and Swing and Sway to put on this show,” she said. “This is our seventh performance year to support Wayfinder Schools, lucky seven.”

“We have a good show ahead of us,” she said. “We have nine amazing stars, five amazing troupes and the Wayfinder Schools will close the show with their finale, with an original song written especially for them.”

There will be an after-party at the Smokestack Grill with D.J. Terry Frank.

Vassallo said it will be a great night out and the show will sell out.

“There are tickets available at this time,” she said. “You can buy them through the school or at HAVII in Camden.”

Charlie Jordan, of Rockland, works with Wayfinder to help produce the show. He said this year, for the first time, there are special seats available.

“We have a special section of seats that are prime seats for viewing the show,” he said. “They cost $50 and there are a few left.”
