THORNDIKE — Earlier this month, a field hockey player at Mount View High School in Thorndike signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her athletic and academic career at the University of Mount Olive in North Carolina.

Sena Hayes, a forward, signed Nov. 12 at the Thorndike high school to play field hockey for the Trojans, a NCAA Division II athletic program.

The Trojans did not take to the field this fall due to the pandemic. Last season, the program finished the season with one win and 13 losses, concluding the season with a 12 game losing streak.

When not suiting up for the Mustangs in Thorndike, the five-foot-seven Hayes plays for the Maine Majestix field hockey club.

Hayes intends to pursue a career as a forensic psychologist, according to her online recruiting profile.
