ROCKPORT — This summer the Rockport Public Library is offering a screen-free summer reading program that you can do entirely from home.

Starting Monday, July 13, families will be able to pick up a summer reading care package, with four projects they can do over the next month. Participants will be able to go on a dinosaur dig, put together a bird feeder, build a solar-powered car, and use air drying clay to make whatever they’d like.

Books can be recorded in reading journals that will be provided with the care package.

The summer reading program ends on Friday, August 7.

Instead of prizes, at the end of summer reading the Friends of the Rockport Public Library will be donating $3 for every book read to the AIO Food Pantry, for a donation of up to $500.

The summer reading program is only available to Rockport Public library card holders. Thirty care packages will be available.

Contact the Library at 236-3642 to reserve your screen free care package.
