WEST ROCKPORT — Scott Gregory Rollins, 81, husband of Sandra (Morton) Rollins, died on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Tall Pines Nursing Facility in Belfast. Born in Rockland at Knox County General Hospital on November 24, 1939, he was the son of Howard E. and Edna (Gregory) Rollins.

A member of Camden High School Class of 1958, Scott attended Southern Maine Community College. On August 19, 1960, he married Sandra Louise Morton. Scott and Sandra then bought their first home in West Rockport where he later opened his business.

“Rollins Auto Body” celebrates its 56th year this year under the ownership of his son and grandson, now “Rollins and Sons Auto Body”. Until recent years, he visited the shop nearly every day. Although challenged with physical disabilities, Scott never let that stop him from doing what he loved – auto body work and working on cars.

Scott and Sandra enjoyed square dancing, camping, attending dances at the Camden American Legion Hall and hosting the occasional dance in the body shop. He was a 46 year member of the Rockport Federal Masonic Lodge; a volunteer fireman of the West Rockport Fire Department, having served as Lieutenant of Engine #23 for many years.

Retirement allowed them to divide their time between Florida and Maine. Scott loved his time in Florida where he made many friends, and continued his morning routine of having coffee with the guys just as he did when he was home in Maine.

Scott believed in high quality workmanship, providing great customer service, had a good sense of humor, was outgoing, and made friends wherever he went.

He was predeceased by his parents, Howard Edwin Rollins and Edna (Gregory) Rollins, brother-in-law, Walter Drinkwater, niece, Julie Drinkwater Landwehr and great-nephew Ryan Landwehr.

Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Sandra Rollins; daughter, Teri (Rollins) Young; son, Greg Rollins and his wife, Trina (Pearse); three grandsons, Levi Scott Rollins and his wife, Kallie (Aldus); Jacob Benjamin Rollins and his wife, Lacey (McCormick); William Duncan Young and his girlfriend, Coral Keller; sister, Glenna Drinkwater; great-grandchildren, Michael Scott Rollins, Brooklyn Elina Rollins, Ellie True Rollins, Deklyn Jeffery Rollins, Connor Benjamin Rollins; nephews, Kurt Drinkwater and wife, Amy; Todd Drinkwater and wife, Kendra; several great nieces and nephews.
