Rockport votes yes on all state questions and municipal warrant articles
ROCKPORT — Voters in Rockport said yes to all three state questions — no power corridor, transpiration infrastructure spending and right to grow one’s own food — as well as five municipal articles that dealt with the future of the RES parcel, and land use ordinance amendments.
Total voter turnout was 1,387. By comparison, in November 2019, total voter turnout was 513.
The results follow:

Question 1 reads: Do you want to ban the construction of high-impact electric transmission lines in the Upper Kennebec Region and to require the Legislature to approve all other such projects anywhere in Maine, both retroactively to 2020, and to require the Legislature, retroactively to 2014, to approve by a two-thirds vote such projects using public land?

Municipal Warrant Articles
Article 2: Shall the town authorize the Select Board to enter into a contract with engineering and design professionals to prepare documents for future consideration of a new fire station in West Rockport on terms and conditions that the Select Board determine to be in the best interests of the town.
