Rockport Public Library to close Oct. 5, reopen in new location

Rockport Public Library has submitted the following:

ROCKPORT — The Rockport Public Library will be closing its doors to the public on October 5 so we can move into the new library! We don’t know the exact date of our reopening yet, but hope to welcome the community into the new library near the end of October or early November.

We will, of course, be extending due dates until we reopen. We ask that you hold onto any items you have checked out until we reopen. The book drop at our Commercial Street location will be locked.

We apologize in advance for leaving you without a library for a few weeks. We hope that we are giving you enough time to stock up on reading materials to get you through our closure.

We will be suspending the Interlibrary Loan program on the 25th of September. Again, we hate to do this, but anything ordered on the 25th or after won’t make it to you until we reopen at the end of October or early November. The last day to order ILL items will be September 24th.

We are very sorry to leave you without a library for a time, but we can’t lie, we are so excited to move into the new library. We can’t wait to welcome you with a smile and show you around your new library.
