ROCKLAND — “Join Rockland Public Library for another summer filled with brilliant books, cool crafts, exciting events, sensational storytimes, and playful prizes,” said the Library, in a news release.

This year’s Summer Reading theme for people of all ages is Tails & Tales (and Trails!). The Library will be filled with themed displays and present theme-based programs. Participants can pick up a registration form starting June 28.

Youth can begin the program by adopting a summer reading pet. Visit the Library the week of June 28 to pick up a new cat or dog stuffie to keep, while supplies last.

Every week the library will have a different free Grab-n-Go craft for kids to pick up in the Children’s Room. Youth can visit the library with their log once a week to earn a prize, as well as the chance to win one of the twelve bikes donated by the Knox Lodge 189 Masons for the Bikes for Books program.

Adults 18 and up are invited to challenge themselves to read something new, and win books by completing a genre themed bingo sheet.

Programs include a Virtual Pet Show for people of all ages on July 8, at 2 p.m., in-person storytimes at 10:30 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and beginning July 19, all ages are invited to create a scarecrow sculpture for a pop-up sculpture garden.

    Happy Summer Reading, Everyone!
