Richard L. Chipman, obituary

Richard L. Chipman, 56, died in his home on February 15, 2018. He was born on April 7, 1961 to Kenneth L. Chipman Jr. and Fern Louise (Blake) Chipman.

Rick went to Rockland High School and later received his GED. After High School, through the CETA Program, Rick started working for Hurricane Island Outward Bound and was with them for over 20 years. He then spent many years working for Harbor Builders as a painter.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time out on the water. His children meant everything to him and he was so proud of their accomplishments.

He is predeceased by his parents, Kenneth L. Chipman Jr. and Fern (Blake) Chipman; and his brothers Kenneth L. Chipman III and Douglas Nash of Bath, New Hampshire.

Rick is survived by his children Erinn N. Chipman and Samuel C. Chipman; sisters Carol Deane of Friendship, Barbara Coffin, of Rockland, and Becky Nash, of Rockland, brothers Maynard Nash of Kenduskeag, Scott Chipman, of Rockland and Carl Chipman, of Thomaston, grandson Jackson James Chipman and many nieces and nephews.

Per the request of the children, there will be no visitation or memorial service. Arrangements are under the guidance of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins at 110 Limerock Street, Rockland, Maine.
