Stone’s farm was the first in Maine to shut down due to PFAS contamination and hasn’t been able to make a living since 2017. A bill that would require the state buy farms rendered unsafe for food production because of contamination met with a lukewarm response in a committee hearing at the State House in Augusta on Monday.     CAMDEN — Beauty comes in many forms. A diver suspended in midair. A flock of pigeons rising in the snow. The stillness of a lobster boat and a man and dog on a paddleboard in calm ocean waters at sunset. 

    Portland Press Herald's 2023 Photos of the Year will be on exhibit in the Picker Room Gallery at the Camden Public Library during the month of March.*

    “This is a great chance to view stunning prints of the best of Maine photojournalism in 2023 from Portland Press Herald photographers,” said CPL, in a news release.

    The public is invited to join Portland Press Herald photo editor Michele McDonald and chief photographer Greg Rec at the opening reception on Saturday, March 2, from 2 - 4 p.m., at the Camden Public Library, to view the exhibit and enjoy refreshments. The reception is free and open to all.
