'Plants on Maine’s Do-Not-Sell List' in online talk with Merryspring
Gary Fish will lead an online presentation called, Plants on Maine’s Do-Not-Sell List, hosted by Merryspring Nature Center, Tuesday, January 28, at 12 p.m.
Maine State Horticulturist Gary Fish will cover the 30 new plants that are no longer allowed for sale or import in Maine and explain why those plants were added. He will also speak about Rosa rugosa (beech rose) and how it was placed in a new special category requiring signage at the point of sale. He will cover how invasive plants exacerbate climate change and diminish wildlife habitat values.
