While Rockland City Manager Tom Luttrell recommended Tuesday, March 17 all fitness centers and gyms in the city cease operations, Planet Fitness is ensuring those interested in staying fit among COVID-19 can, regardless of if they are a member of a Planet Fitness location. 

Planet Fitness, which has a location in Rockland, responded to nationwide gym closures by opting to bring virtual workout sessions inside homes. 

The company is offering free online classes on its Facebook and YouTube accounts at 7 p.m. EST weekdays for the next two weeks via live-stream. 

No equipment for the workouts are needed, the company says, and classes will last roughly 20 minutes. 

For those who can’t tune in to the live-stream, on-demand versions of the stream will be posted to the company’s Facebook and YouTube accounts.
