Pilates, remote yoga, more with Adult Ed Spring-Summer semester

Tue, 02/16/2021 - 4:45pm

Five Town CSD Adult Ed kicks off its latest spring-summer semester on March 1 with new remote classes for both yoga and Pilates.

“This is the first time we have been able to offer these and add to our many ongoing classes to help you stay fit, healthy and engaged even while staying at home,” said Five Towns, in a news release.

Gentle Pilates begins on March 2, noon to 1 p.m., and goes for 10 weeks over Zoom.

Mindful Yoga has three different options for sessions: March 3-April 21; April 28-June 16; June 23-July 28, all from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., and over Zoom.

In addition, Five Towns continues to offer Tai Chi in person at Midcoast Recreation Center, from 10:30 a.m. - noon, beginning either March 3 or April 28; Qigong remotely over Zoom beginning either March 3 or April 28 at 3 - 4:30 p.m.; and a new session of Pickleball Learn to Play offered at MRC every month for March, April, May and June.

Also beginning in March is Middle Eastern Dance, held for 5 weeks at the American Legion Hall in Camden beginning March 11, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. This class has the unique opportunity to be taken either live in person, or remotely via Zoom.

All in-person classes require masks, social distancing and a Covid-19 Wellness Check the day of the class.

“But with so many remote options, don’t let Covid-19 stop you from exercise and fun!” said Five Towns.

Many more classes are listed on the website and in the brochure. If you need a brochure, they are available at area grocery stores or you can call and request one. Visit fivetowns.maineadulted.org for more information or call 236-7800, option 5.
