Pickup truck ends up submerged in the drink in St. George early Thursday morning

Knox County Sheriff's Deputy Matt Elwell responded to a call early Thursday morning for a submerged pickup truck in St. George harbor, near the Port Clyde General Store.
According to Elwell, Justin “Buzz” Libby had backed his 2000 GMC 1500 pickup truck onto the boat launch with a small skiff on a trailer he was going to launch into the water around 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
When Libby got out of the truck to release the skiff from the trailer, he forgot to put his truck in park and it began to roll back into the water. "Justin tried to stop it, but was unable to," said Elwell.
The truck ended up approximately 150 feet from shore in about 10-15 feet of water. When it came to a stop, it was totally submerged.
St. George Fire Department responded to the call along with an Automaster Collision Center tow truck. Automaster subsequently hired diver Keith Miller to hook a tow chain to the truck so they could pull it out of the water.
Elwell said no fluids leaked into the water and nobody was injured.
