GEORGIA — Philip Michael Dodge, 60, died March 6, 2018 in Jesup, Georgia.

He was born on March 11, 1957 to George I. and Alice (MacLeod) Dodge Jr. Phil grew up in Owls Head and Augusta. After high school he enlisted in the Navy and served oversees on a destroyer. Never one to stay in one place, he traveled from Maine to Florida working parades, carnivals and at Mardi Gras each year. Phil's hobbies included riding motor cycles, hunting and fishing.

He leaves behind his daughter Madison Lee Vernon of South Carolina; son Mathew Dodge of Maine; brothers Edward of Searsmont and Richard of Union; cousin Elizabeth Strickland of Las Vegas; nephew Michael Dodge and wife Cathy Jo of Hope; nieces Stephanie Fuller and husband Donald, Debra Kerian and husband Ken, and Michelle Dodge of South Carolina; friend and business partner Cheryl Vernon Smith and many cousins and friends in Maine.

The family would like to thank Hospice of South Georgia where Phil died for their care and understanding. There will be a private interment on Memorial Day.
