NORTHPORT — A Northport woman was arrested Dec. 18 following reports of a domestic disturbance. 

Jade Cummings, 22, was engaged in a verbal altercation with others when things reportedly took a turn for the violent. 

During the verbal confrontation Cummings attempted to punch an individual, police said. She then pushed the victim to the ground where the victim’s head reportedly struck a coffee table, according to a media report. 

After the physical altercation, Cummings allegedly removed two cell phones from the residence in an attempt to prevent anyone from contacting law enforcement. 

Though Cummings had left the scene by the time deputies arrived, she was located a short time later in Belfast. 

Cummings has been charged with domestic violence assault and obstructing the report of crime.
