ROCKPORT — Jeanne Denney, of Camden, accepted a check for $2,000 on behalf of the Community Emergency Shelter Pilot Committee from Karin Pratt of Nativity Lutheran Church, in Rockport.

The funds, partial proceeds from Nativity’s annual Harvest Festival and Tag Sale, will be used to open a cold-weather emergency overnight shelter in the Flanagan Center in Rockland.

The committee consists of faith leaders and members of the communities from Thomaston, Rockland, Camden, and Rockport.

For more information about how you can make a donation to or volunteer at the shelter, contact Denney at emergencyshelterpilot@gmail.com or P.O. Box 1225, Rockland, ME 04841.
