ROCKPORT — Midcoast Recreation Center’s ice arena is proud to be introducing a massive, 20-foot-tall inflatable hockey player by the name of Mr. Colossus, aka Mr. C, to the community.
The ice on which one plays ice hockey and figure skates on is out, but the mission of the arena is still ongoing.
For the remainder of the summer, MRC will be finding businesses in the local area interested in hosting Mr. C at their business to garner some unique attention and help spread the word of staying active and playing the coolest sport on earth — ice hockey.
MRC’s hope that Mr. C is well-received and it can be repeated yearly in the late spring and summer time (May to September) leading up to the ice arena’s months of operation, a press release noted.
The purpose of this journey will be for local businesses to identify and support the MRC’s mission and ongoing promotion of healthy living within the community through sports and fitness programs, the release stated.
You can join in the fun and be entered to win a special prize by taking a picture of Mr. C and posting it to social media with the hashtag #MrColossus. Drawing will be held Sept. 15.
