NORTHPORT — Monica M. Wing, 34, of Northport, died unexpectedly Oct. 6, 2014, at her home. She was born Aug. 4, 1980, in Belfast, the daughter of Dennis and Jaylene (Curtis) Wing.

She attended Mt. View schools, graduating second in her class in 1998. She received her degree, with high honors, in early childhood education from the University of Maine in Farmington. For five years Monica was the art director at YMCA Camp Jordan. She worked at Bell the Cat.

Monica was a devoted supporter of Belfast Area Children's Center for the past several years, serving both as the director then as a teacher. She loved children and they loved her. She also enjoyed camping and kayaking with her significant other, Ron.

Monica will be remembered for her creativity, her love of art, photography and gardening, and her loving spirit.

She is survived by her loving parents; her significant other, Ron Parkinson of Northport; her siblings, Stephanie Barrick and her husband, Kevin, of Pennsylvania and Ryan Wing and his wife, Kate, of Monmouth; her niece and nephew, Kelsie and Adam; her beloved dog, Ruger, and her cat, Tally.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. in Belfast.
