MIDCOAST — Organizations have gotten an early start in announcing building closures ahead of a forecasted storm that begins late Sunday night, Jan. 22, and continues into Monday morning.

County of Waldo offices – Commissioner Shorey has directed all non-essential employees to work remotely Monday, January 23, 2023, due to the snowstorm.

The Riley School closed, Monday, January 23,2023.

State of Maine offices will be closed all day Monday, January 23, 2023 due to a forecasted winter storm expected to cause difficult travel conditions. “Governor Mills is strongly urging all Maine people to stay off the roads during the storm, if possible.”

The Knox County Administrative Offices, Knox County Superior Court, and Rockland District Court will all be closed Mondays, January 23, 2023 due to the weather. They will all re-open on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 8 a.m.

The City of Rockland offices and library are closed.

City of Belfast non emergency facilities are closed.

St. George Town Office is closed. Regular business hours will resume Tuesday, January 24. 

The Lincolnville Town Office will be closed today (Monday, January 23, 2023. The Select Board meeting is postponed until tomorrow.

The Searsport Town Office will be closed today due to the weather. “The roads are snow covered and very slippery, please be careful. Our plow crews are out pushing the snow but this is expected all day.”

The Owls Head Transportation Museum will be closed to the public today, Monday Jan. 23, due to weather. “Stay safe out there!”

The UMA Rockland Center is closed today due to wth winter storm.

PBMC, WCGH Winter Weather Closures for Jan. 23:

To keep community and care team members safe in challenging weather, Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital will close all outpatient practices at noon today, Jan. 23. This includes primary care practices, specialists and walk-in care. Patients whose appointments will be affected by these closures will be notified by phone.

The labs, radiology/imaging and the retail pharmacy at PBMC will remain open for now but patients are encouraged to call ahead to confirm.

The Emergency Department at both hospitals will remain open. The National Weather Service forecasts that the storm will end tonight, and we expect to resume regular hours of operation tomorrow, Jan. 24.
