WARREN — The staff at the Midcoast Athletics Center in Warren has kicked off the new year with the announcement of its winter program offerings in basketball, tumble and cheerleading, and wrestling.
Classes are once per week and $55 per month, unless stated otherwise.
Programs are offered on a continuous enrollment, recurring monthly billing system with no contract.

BASKETBALL: Boys & Girls Pee Wee
Grades K-2: This program is designed to teach athletes the fundamental components of basketball. Athletes develop skills through drills and intrasquad scrimmages. Practices are one hour each. Saturdays 8 a.m.
BASKETBALL: Boys & Girls Youth
Grades 3-6: This program is designed to help athletes develop fundamental basketball skills and strategies to help them get ahead of the game. Athletes will have one-hour long practice/week and one-hour game each week. Athletes will be drafted into teams based on school district. Practices at 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. on Monday or Tuesday; Games at 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
BASKETBALL: Boys & Girls Middle School
Grades 7-8: This program is designed for athletes that want to get in extra work during the season. This will be an open gym type program during the winter school season and players will scrimmage during sessions. Following the completion of school-based middle school basketball, athletes will be separated into teams based on their hometown, at which time a formal game schedule will be drafted. Practices are two hours each. Saturdays 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. boys; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. girls.
TUMBLE & CHEER: Tiny Tots
Ages 18 months to 4 years: Introduce little ones to the world of tumbling! This class focuses on developing motor skills and learning skills through tumbling lessons. Parents encouraged to join until their little one is ready to explore on their own. Classes are 50 minutes each. Wednesdays 4 p.m.
TUMBLE & CHEER: Beginner/Intermediate Tumbling
Grades K-12: No experience required. This is an introductory class to floor skills for athletes. Students will learn the basics of tumbling, including cartwheels, back walkovers, front walkovers, roundoffs, and standing back handsprings. Classes are 50 minutes each. Wednesdays 5 p.m. with Coach Cassi; Saturdays 12 p.m. with Coach Matt.
TUMBLE & CHEER: Intermediate/Advanced Tumbling
Grades 5-12: This class is designed for athletes that have mastered most of the skills in beginner/intermediate class. Athletes must have at least a standing BHS to enter this class. Skills trained in this class include: roundoff back handspring, standing back tucks, roundoff back handspring back tucks, layouts, and twisting skills. Classes are 50 minutes each. Wednesdays 6 p.m. with Coach Cassi; Thursdays 6 p.m. with Coach Matt.
TUMBLE & CHEER: Boys & Girls Trampoline
Grades K-5: This program is for boys and girls and is designed to improve the athlete’s strength, agility, and learn beginner trampoline and acrobatics skills. This program will help develop confidence, self-esteem, and a positive attitude. Classes are 50 minutes each. Saturdays 9 a.m.
TUMBLE & CHEER: Intro to Cheer
This is an introduction to cheerleading that is designed to give kids a taste of what cheer is all about. In this class, they will learn jumps, cheer motions, dances, and stunts. Classes are 50 minutes each. Grades K-3 Sundays 1:00 for Grades K-3; 2 p.m. for Grades 4-8
TUMBLE & CHEER: Stunt
Grades 2-12: This class will focus on teaching proper stunt progressions and technique in a safe environment with Coach Matt, Coach Cassi, and Coach Greg. All experience levels are welcomed. Classes are 50 minutes each. Thursdays 5 p.m.
WRESTLING: Boys & Girls
Grades 5-12: This class will focus on fundamental wrestling skills for both the competitive and non-competitive athlete. Classes are two hours each. All wrestling classes are $12 per class, or five classes for $50 if purchased in advance. Mondays 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
PRIVATE & TEAM TRAINING
All Ages: Private Training and Team Training is available for basketball, football, baseball, wrestling, stunting, and tumbling. Call for details and to schedule your individual or small group lesson!
