Medomak Valley outlines graduation plans

    WALDOBORO — After receiving input from 65 members of its graduating class, the Medomak Valley High School administration has outlined its graduation plans more than 70 percent of survey participants elected. 

    The high school will hold a drive-in ceremony on Wednesday, June 10 with a rain date of Saturday, June 13 in the student parking lot where a stage will be located. 

    Seniors will graduate in groups of 25 and four to six sessions will be offered with seniors signing up for their preferred time at either 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. or 7 p.m. 

    Each senior will receive three vehicle passes for the ceremony, and no vehicles without passes are allowed.

    In groups of five, seniors and up to four family members will be called to the stage for scholarship awards and/or diploma presentations.

    A family member will hand the diploma to the senior and a photograph will be taken by a school staff member for free distribution later.

    The event will be livestreamed and recorded.

    Students will receive access to a recording of the senior video, student and teacher speeches, and all scholarship and diploma presentations.

    Restrooms will be available through well-marked doors to the science wing. Six-foot distancing will be marked; custodial staff will assist with monitoring and cleaning the facilities with each use. Young children should be accompanied by an adult. Hand sanitizer will be readily available.
