WALDOBORO — The second-seeded Medomak Riverhawks hosted the third-seeded Oceanside Mariners in a Busline League middle school boys soccer semifinal playoff tilt Wednesday, Oct. 20 in Waldoboro.
Medomak was able to shoot past the visitors 5-2 thanks to a strong second half with all five of its goals tallied in a rally. Oceanside tallied a goal in each of the halves.
Luke Cheesman scored three goals for the hosts, while Aidyn Herring contributed two. Thomas Geddis scored both goals for Oceanside.
Recording shots for Medomak were Cheesman (10), Herring (seven), Dima Cheesman (five) and LJ Holub (one). Dima Cheesman recorded one assist for Medomak.
Medomak had six corner kicks and Mason Nguyen recorded seven saves.
With the win, Medomak advances to play top-seeded Camden-Rockport in the league championship Saturday, Oct. 23 at Point Lookout in Northport.
