PALERMO - Marie B. Grady passed away Jan. 2, 2015, at the age of 82, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Boston, Mass., on Oct. 8, 1932, daughter of Thomas and Lillian Bruso.

She later moved with her family to Maine, where she attended Erskine Academy and met the love of her life, James Grady. They were married at Marie's church in Massachusetts on Oct. 14, 1950, and settled in Jim's hometown of Palermo. She became a homemaker for the family's dairy farm and gave birth to four children. She was a member of Palermo Extension, the Sheepscot Fish and Game and the Palermo Historical Society. Marie enjoyed picking blueberries, made the best apple pie in the world and loved to go out to eat.

Marie was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Lillian Belden; her brothers, Thomas and Robert Bruso; her mother-in-law, Ruth Grady; her grandson, Jeffrey James Grady; and her granddaughter, Allison Grady.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Jeff and his wife, Lauretta Grady, Eileen Grady, Bill and his wife, Diana Grady, and Jason and his wife, Kathe Grady. Marie is also survived by her grandchildren, Bobbie Jo and her husband, Scott Evans, Shawna Grady, Andrew, Samuel, Loralie and Levi Grady; her great-grandchildren, Cole and James Evans, Jacob, Kay and Clara Grady; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Marie loved her family more than anything and was always there to provide us with love, support and a good laugh.

A celebration of her life will be held Jan. 10 at 10 a.m. at the Palermo Christian Church.
