Maine State Police Troop D report: loud parties, trespassing, drinking and driving

    AUGUSTA — The Maine State Police Troop D reported the following activity Oct. 27 – Nov. 3. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

    Oct. 27

    Troopers Corey Smith and Jeremiah Wesbrock responded to a domestic argument in Lincolnville. No crime was found to have occurred.

    Trooper Wesbrock responded to a trespassing complaint on Millstone Drive in Liberty. Jay Gibson, 21, was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing.

    Oct. 28

    Trooper Wesbrock responded a harassment complaint in Warren. No charges were filed.

    Trooper Christopher Rogers stopped Phillip Justin Fitzherbert, 29, on Pond Road in Manchester for speeding 72 mph in a 40 mph zone. Fitzherbert was summonsed for criminal speeding.

    Trooper Rogers stopped Samuel Cobb, 25, for speeding and not wearing his seatbelt on I-295 in Bowdoinham. Cobb allegedly smelled of alcohol, performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken to the Topsham Police Department for a test. Cobb posted bail and was released.

    Trooper James Macdonald stopped a vehicle on Lakeview Drive in China for expired registration. Christopher Anthony, 64, was charged with operating a motor vehicle with expired registration more than 150 days.

    Oct. 29

    Trooper Macdonald charged Zachary Bennett, 26, with operating after suspension and operating a vehicle with expired registration greater than 150 days.

    Troopers Mark Ferreira and Eric Verhille arrested Walter Hawkins, 26, of South Carolina, in South Gardiner and charged him with operating without a license, refusing to submit to detention or arrest, failure to stop for a law enforcement officer and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

    Trooper Kyle. Pelletier stopped Siedah Richards, 25, on Route 1 in West Bath for operating a vehicle with expired registration. At the time of the traffic stop the vehicle Richards was operating did not match the registration. She was summonsed for attaching false plates.

    Trooper Wuthenow took a report of Facebook harassment. Investigation continues.

    Trooper Seth Allen stopped Sherry Evans, 50, on Weeks Mills Road in China for a vehicle defect. Evans’ license was under suspension and she was summonsed for the offense and released to a licensed driver.

    Oct. 30

    Trooper Corey Smith stopped a vehicle speeding 85 mph in a 45 mph zone on Oak Hill Road in Swanville. Seth Roberts, 20, of Swanville, was summonsed for criminal speeding and the vehicle was towed.  

    Trooper Wesbrock responded to a theft of medication complaint in Windsor.

    Trooper James Leonard investigated a criminal mischief complaint in Albion. The locks on three storage lockers had been cut at Amulet Storage on Unity Rd. The investigation is ongoing.

    Oct. 31

    Trooper Leonard took a report of medication being stolen from a vehicle that had been parked and unlocked at the Windsor Fairgrounds.

    Troopers Allen and Leonard arrested Craig Preo, 50, in Windsor on a warrant.

    Nov. 1

    Trooper Niles Krech stopped a vehicle on Route 9 in Augusta for not having an inspection sticker. Danial Tripp, 32, was ultimately summonsed for operating after suspension, false attachment of plates and falsifying plates. Tripp was released from the scene and the vehicle was towed.

    Troopers Rogers stopped Ginny Torman, 56, on I-295 in Bowdoinham after receiving an erratic operation complaint. Torman allegedly performed poorly on field sobriety and was transported to the Richmond Police Department for an intoxilyzer test. She was bailed out and released.

    Troopers Wesbrock, Macdonald and Sergeant Patrick Hood responded to a loud party complaint on South Mountain Valley Highway in Montville. The partiers were advised to disperse for the night and quiet down.

    Nov. 2

    Trooper Wesbrock responded to a fraud complaint on Lake View Drive in China. The Circle K store reported someone tried using a fake $10 bill at the store. Trooper Wesbrock is continuing the investigation.

    Trooper Wesbrock stopped Scott Minzy, 42, of Pittston on Route 17 in Windsor for having expired registration. Minzy was summonsed for failure to register a motor vehicle 30-150 days and operating with expired license greater than 90 days.

    Trooper Benjamin Sweeney initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Route 141 in Belfast. Allison Brown, 30, of Belfast was summonsed for operating after suspension.

    Trooper Sweeney initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Route 141 in Belfast. Kristle Staples, 33, of Belfast, was summonsed for operating after suspension.

    Trooper Smith stopped a commercial vehicle on Route 1 in Lincolnville for a lack of an inspection decal. Ivan Bragg, 23, of Searsmont, was summonsed for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and failure to display an inspection decal.

    Trooper Smith received a report of a break-in at a storage building on the Beach Road in Lincolnville. The investigation continues.

    Trooper Macdonald stopped a vehicle on Route 17 in Windsor for speeding. Trooper Macdonald allegedly detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Following investigation, passenger Teresa Thomas, 43, was summonsed for unlawful possession of Schedule Z drugs.

    Trooper Macdonald stopped a vehicle on Route 17 in Windsor for defective license plate lights. Investigation revealed Kenneth Cox, 44, had a criminally expired registration and was on bail conditions. Kenneth was charged with violating his conditions of release and operating a motor vehicle with expired registration greater than 150 days.

    Nov. 3

    Trooper Macdonald stopped a vehicle on Hussey Road in Albion for speeding. The juvenile male operator was arrested for operating under the influence and operating without a license.

    Trooper Desiree Wuthenow took a report of a stolen vehicle out of Knox County that was found off of a camp road in Liberty. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office impounded the vehicle.
