Maine State Police Troop D beat

    AUGUSTA — Maine State Police Troop D reported the following activity May 25-31. Troop D is responsible for Maine's Midcoast, including Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Waldo, and Knox counties, the southern half of Kennebec County and part of northern Cumberland County. The troop also patrols Interstate 295, from Brunswick to Gardiner. The troop's complement includes a lieutenant, three sergeants, 25 troopers and a secretary.

    An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

    May 25

    Trooper Kyle Pelletier stopped Lacey Beth Mace, 21, on Route 197 in Litchfield for speeding. Mace was on bail conditions, and a search of her and her vehicle resulted in the discovery of a usable amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was issued summonses for the offenses.

    Trooper Niles Krech stopped an SUV on I-295 in West Gardiner for traveling over 96 mph in a posted 70 mph zone. Trooper Krech took the names of both occupants and discovered that the passenger, Isaac Moran, 35, had a warrant for his arrest and he was transported to Kennebec County without incident.

    May 26

    Trooper Pelletier stopped Eris Xhemali, 23, on I-295 in West Gardiner for operating a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. At the time of the stop Xhemali's license under suspension, and he was issued a summons for the offense.

    May 28

    Trooper Seth Allen stopped Kaela Brennan, 19, in Hallowell for texting while driving. Brennan's license was under suspension and she was on conditions of release. She was arrested and charged with operating after suspension and violating conditions of release.

    May 29

    Trooper Benjamin Sweeney located Peter Hall, 45, of Winterport, at his place of employment. Hall, who had a warrant, was arrested and transported to Waldo County Jail without incident.
