Maine DOT postpones Searsport informational meeting about proposed wind port

AUGUSTA - As the Maine Department of Transportation continues to evaluate sources of funding for the development of an offshore wind port, the DOT said Nov. 8 that it has postponed an informational meeting scheduled for Monday, November 18, at the Searsport Community Center.
The meeting will be rescheduled at later date to be determined, the DOT said.
The DOT continues its work on project design, engineering, and development, the agency said.
At the end of October, the U.S. Department of Transportation rejected a Maine’s Department of Transportation request for a $456 million grant to develop Sears Island.
