Maine author David Florig to speak on ‘The Stones of Ailsa Craig’

    BELFAST — Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 6:30 p.m., the Belfast Free Library will host Maine author David Florig for a presentation about his debut novel, The Stones of Ailsa Craig. This free event will take place in the Abbott Room of the library, 106 High Street in Belfast.

    Set in present-day Belfast, Maine and 1880s Scotland, the novel is a dark look into one man’s loss, loneliness, and obsession with vengeance and justice.

    The Stones of Ailsa Craig is centered around the ancient Scottish sport of curling and although curling provides the context, the novel is for fans of both historical fiction and mysteries.

    Florig grew up in South Jersey before retiring to Maine. He is the past-president of the Pine Tree Curling Club in Portland, Maine, as well as a member of the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance.

    Books will be available to purchase for signing at the event.
