Mahlon Paul Palmer, obituary
Mahlon Paul Palmer aged 91 passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, at RiverRidge Center in Kennebunk, Maine.
Born in Sudsbury, Massachusetts, on May 24, 1933, to Mahlon A. Palmer and Ethelind H. (Sleeper) Palmer. The family relocated to a farm in Jefferson, Maine. Paul went to Cony High School in Augusta, Maine, where he studied auto mechanics. During his last year of high school, the family relocated to Islesboro, Maine.
On November 17, 1953, Paul enlisted into the military and was stationed in Germany. After an Honorable discharge, Paul returned home to Islesboro and married Valma May Pendleton on September 23,1959. They had one child, Bonney Lynn Palmer Daniels, born July 9, 1963.
In1968, Paul moved his family to New Hampshire for a more promising future, finally settling in Hillsboro, New Hampshire, for 37 years, making endearing friendships. After Velma’s passing in 2014, Paul relocated back to Maine, in the town of Knox.
Paul loved animals, boating, camping, and taking pictures. He always had a camera in his hands. He enjoyed sitting down with old friends and new, reminiscing about the past.
Paul Palmer is survived by his daughter Bonney L. Daniels, son in-law James Daniels, grandchildren Emily A Caldwell and Jessie M Caldwell, brother in-law Leonard Pendleton, 18 nieces and nephews, and many other family members. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Velma May Palmer.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Pendleton Cemetery located in Islesboro, Maine. A reception will follow at the Second Baptist Church.
