Local businesses to participate in United Midcoast Charities' 8th annual Day of Giving, Dec. 21
This Saturday, December 21, United Midcoast Charities (UMC) is hosting its 8th annual Day of Giving event.
Stores and restaurants from Thomaston to Belfast have teamed up with UMC to make a holiday donation to the UMC Grants Program. Every dollar donated directly benefits Knox and Waldo County nonprofits focusing on food, housing, health and safety, and economic security.
“What could be better than shopping local, and knowing that the gifts you're giving this holiday season will go on to help UMC partner agencies ultimately impact 1 in 3 people living in Knox and Waldo Counties in very significant ways?" said Becca Gildred, Executive Director of UMC. "That’s a community coming together as a united force for good."

United Midcoast Charities plays a pivotal role in providing financial support, strategic guidance, and tangible resources to Midcoast nonprofits providing services in our four focus areas of food, housing, health & safety, and economic security. UMC strengthens these community-focused organizations to achieve their missions more effectively and have a greater impact.
