Lego, lobster, livestock slide into 2020 Toboggan weekend

Sun, 02/09/2020 - 3:45pm

CAMDEN — As usual, fun and fanfare ruled the day at the 2020 U.S. National Toboggan Championship, Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Camden Snow Bowl.

The annual three-day event was shortened to two days after a Friday snow, sleet, rain event forced the cancellation of practice runs.

Saturday racers, however, appeared undeterred by the shortened schedule. Sun and slightly warmer temperatures than last year kept the sleds moving and the socialization flowing.

The costume parade included a few false starts for the sake of a filmmaker in action. By the time the parade officially started, everyone knew exactly where to fall in line.
