The Legacy of Carole King comes to Camden, March 1
CAMDEN — Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St., presents Welcome Home – The Legacy of Carole King, an evening with acclaimed vocalist/pianist Michelle Foster and her trio, Saturday, March 1, at 7:30 p.m.
Foster has performed this program in more than 12 states, but this is the first time she will present it on the Midcoast, where she has many extended family members.
“I am truly excited to be bringing the show to Maine because I grew up spending a lot of my summers up in Camden/Rockland,” she said in a Camden Opera Hose news release.
Foster and her bandmembers are formally trained in performance and education. They have shared stages with Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra, Gloria Gaynor, and even Carole King herself. Welcome Home includes “I Feel the Earth Move,” “It’s Too Late,” “Will You Love Me Tomorrow,” “You’ve Got a Friend” and more.
"Foster’s bubbly personality and ability to befriend audiences through both song and story have put her in high demand," said the release.
She tours full-time in both North America and Europe. In addition, she owns the prestigious event band Foster the Beat and is a recording artist/composer/part-owner of the private music production company, Tunedly. Lately, Foster has garnered millions of views on TikTok and Instagram for her cover videos.
Reserved seat tickets for this special evening at the Camden Opera House are $30 in advance/$35 day-of-show at camdenoperahouse.com or by calling the box office at (207) 236-3154.
"Be sure NOT to purchase on re-sell sites for hundreds of dollars," said COH.
