Knox County Sheriff’s beat: Operators under the influence, outstanding warrant arrests, burglary and assault arrest
ROCKLAND — The Knox County Sheriff's Office reported the following activity May 25 - June 8. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt.
May 25
Deputy Paul Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Cushing involving a single vehicle. There were reportable damage.
Deputy Robert Potter conducted a radar detail in Vinalhaven and no violations were noted.
Lt. Kirk Guerrette responded to a report of an erratic vehicle in Rockland. The vehicle and operator were located and warned on their driving habits.
Lt. Guerrette conducted a countywide seat belt detail and issued fifteen summonses.
Deputy Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Washington involving two vehicles. There was reportable damage.
Subsequent to a traffic stop in Thomaston, Sgt. James Moore issued summonses for failure to provide insurance and operator not properly secured.
Subsequent to a traffic stop in Thomaston, Deputy Lance Mitchell arrested John Clary, 65, of Portland, on charges of operating under the influence and operating after suspension. Clary was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Sgt. Moore responded to a report of an underage drinking party in Warren and issued summonses for alcohol and drug related offenses.
May 26
Deputy Arthur Smith arrested Joseph Minoty, 31, of Rockland, on an outstanding warrant. Minoty was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.
Subsequent to a traffic stop in Thomaston, Deputy Smith issued a summons for operating without a license.
Deputy Smith arrested Seth Neal, 30, of Friendship, on an outstanding warrant. Neal was taken to Knox County Jail without incident.
Deputy Spear arrested Nickolas King, 23, of Union, on an outstanding warrant. King was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.
Deputy Spear arrested Cammi Colby, 18, of South Thomaston, on a charge of hindering apprehension and prosecution. Colby was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.
May 27
Deputy Matt Elwell conducted a radar detail in Washington. No violations were noted.
Deputy Paul Pinkham conducted a seat belt detail in Warren and issued several summonses.
Deputy Joslyn conducted a radar detail in North Haven. No violations were noted.
Subsequent to a traffic stop in Rockport, Deputy Nathaniel Jack issued summonses for no proof of insurance and speeding.
May 28
Deputy Spear arrested Briannah Parlin, 22, of South Thomaston, on two outstanding warrants. Parlin was transported to Knox County jail without incident.
Deputy Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving two vehicles. One operator was transported to Pen Bay Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries and there was reportable damage to the vehicles.
May 29
Lt. Guerrette responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in St. George involving a single vehicle with reportable damage.
Lt. Guerrette began an investigation of theft in Friendship. This is still an active investigation.
Deputy Joslyn began an investigation of trespassing in North Haven. The suspect in this case was located and issued a warning.
Deputies Pinkham and Spear responded to a domestic in Cushing. Subsequent to this response, Chasity Keizer, 34, of Cushing, was arrested on a charge of domestic violence criminal mischief. Chasity was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.
Deputy Spear arrested Kevin Keizer, 49, of Cushing, on an outstanding warrant. Keizer was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.
Deputy Smith conducted a radar detail in Owls Head. Four warnings and one summons were issued for speed.
May 30
Sgt. Palmer conducted a countywide seat belt detail and issued four summonses.
Deputy Pinkham began an investigation of trespassing in Washington. The suspect was located and issued a warning.
Deputy Spear began an investigation of harassment in Owls Head. The suspect has yet to be located.
Deputy Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle. There was reportable damage.
Deputy Mitchell conducted a seat belt detail in Owls Head and issued six summonses.
Deputy Elwell conducted a radar detail in Union. Two summonses were issued.
Sgt. Palmer responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in South Thomaston involving a single vehicle striking a deer. There was no reportable damage.
May 31
Deputy Pinkham responded to a report of a disorderly in South Thomaston. All parties involved were separated and issued warnings.
Deputy Joslyn conducted a radar detail in North Haven. No violations were noted.
Lt. Detective Reginald Walker conducted a countywide seat belt detail and issued three summonses.
June 1
Deputy Robert Potter conducted a radar detail in Vinalhaven. No violations were noted.
Deputy Lance Mitchell responded to a report of an intoxicated male stumbling in the roadway in Camden. The male was located and given a ride home.
Deputies Mitchell and Sgt. James Moore responded to a report of a missing juvenile in Washington. The juvenile was located.
June 2
Deputy Max King began an investigation of harassment in Owls Head. The male suspect was contacted and issued a warning.
Deputy Mitchell responded to a report of a suspicious male in South Thomaston. The male was located and it was found that he was urinating on the side of the road.
June 3
Deputy Paul Spear arrested Kimberly Colson, 45, of Hope, on an outstanding warrant. Colson was transported to the Knox County jail without incident.
Deputy Spear began an investigation of harassment in Washington.
Deputy Potter began an investigation of theft in Vinalhaven.
June 4
Deputy Mitchell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Appleton involving a single vehicle. The operator suffered a broken arm and the vehicle was a total loss.
Deputy King responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Union involving a single vehicle. There was reportable damage.
Deputy Spear conducted a radar detail in Union. No violations were noted.
Deputy Arthur Smith arrested Ryan Quinn, 32, of Warren, on an outstanding warrant. Quinn was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.
Deputies Nathaniel Jack, Sgt. Moore and Sgt. John Palmer responded to a threatening complaint in Cushing. Subsequent to this response, Jason Baughman, 46, of Cushing, was arrested on charges of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, criminal mischief and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.
Deputies Spear and Smith responded to a threatening complaint in Rockport. Subsequent to this response, Cote Baughman, 25, of Cushing, was arrested on a charge of threatening. Baughman was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.
June 5
Deputy Spear began an investigation of theft in Union. There are no suspects or leads at this time.
Deputy Jeremy Joslyn conducted a radar detail in North Haven. No violations were noted.
Deputy Jack arrested Jeremy Fausset, 36, of South Thomaston, on an outstanding warrant. Fausset was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.
Deputy King arrested Donald Haynes, 45, of Owls Head, on an outstanding warrant. Haynes was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.
June 6
Deputy Spear conducted a radar detail in Warren. No violations were noted.
Deputy Joslyn conducted a radar detail in North Haven. No violations were noted.
Deputy Elwell conducted an OUI detail throughout Knox County. No arrests were made.
Deputy Smith conducted a radar detail in Appleton. No violations were noted.
Deputy Joslyn arrested Morgan Mayo, 33, of North Haven, on charges of burglary, assault, criminal mischief and operating without a license. Mayo was transported to Knox County Jail without incident.
Deputies Jack and Sgt. Palmer responded to a report of a domestic in Warren. This was deemed a verbal argument only and the parties were separated.
June 7
Subsequent to a traffic stop in Warren, Deputy Pinkham issued a summons for invalid inspection.
Deputies Mitchell, Smith and Sgt. Palmer responded to a report of an erratic vehicle in Washington. The vehicle and operator were located but would not stop and eventually crashed. The operator fled on foot and was unable to be located. Probable charges are pending.
Deputy Mitchell responded to a report of a domestic in Cushing. This was deemed a verbal argument only and the parties were separated.
Deputy Potter began an investigation of assault in Vinalhaven. This is still an active investigation.
In total, the Knox County Sheriff's Office received 544 calls for service during this two-week period,. Those calls that are not listed above include ATV problems, alarms, 911 hang-ups, along with nuisance, erratic vehicle and suspicious complaints.
