Knox County Criminal Docket closed cases

    ROCKLAND — The following cases were closed in Knox County Unified Court from July 16-20.

    Roger W. Anyan, 65, of Lincolnville, failure to register vehicle, $100 fine.

    Sigvard W. Beckman, IV, 27, of Vinalhaven, unlawful possession of scheduled drug, $400 fine, 180 days in jail all suspended, probation one year, restitution $120.

    Matthew S. Catalano, 35, of Cushing, operating a motor vehicle while license suspended or revoked, $500 fine.

    Aryn F. Chase, 41, of Liberty, stealing drugs, dismissed; stealing drugs, $400 fine, 90 days in jail all suspended, probation one year.

    Alexander Copeland, 20, of Lincolnville, operating while license suspended or revoked, $250 fine.

    Chamara Cox, 31, of Rochester, N.Y., unlawful trafficking in cocaine, $400 fine, $400 suspended, two counts of unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, dismissed; three years in prison; reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, three years in prison; assault, dismissed; falsifying physical evidence, dismissed; eluding an officer, dismissed; driving to endanger, dismissed.

    All incidents occurred in Thomaston April 4.

    Cox was part of an investigation by agents from the MDEA Midcoast District Task Force have been investigating the distribution of crack cocaine and heroin in the Midcoast by a group from New York, according to a news release from the Maine Dept. of Public Safety.

    As agents took two men also involved in the investigation into custody, other agents attempted to arrest Chamara Cox, who had driven one of the suspects to the location in her rental car. 

    Police confronted the suspects at a convenience store in Warren and ordered them not to move.

    Cox then drove away and the front passenger side of the rental car she was driving struck MDEA Special Agent Max King who was not injured. 

    Cox refused to get out of the car and sped off with Knox County deputies and Waldoboro Police chasing the vehicle, according to the release. 

    The pursuit continued until Cox’s vehicle was stopped near Moody's Diner in Waldoboro and Cox was taken into custody.

    Along the way, officers observed Cox allegedly tossing small bags of crack cocaine along Route 1 as she fled. 

    Waldoboro Police, aided by a Lincoln County drug sniffing dog, located the four bags of crack that were thrown out of Cox's car, the release said. An additional four bags of crack were seized from inside the vehicle along with three New York driver's licenses bearing similar photos to Cox, police said. 

    Dakota Deane, 18, of Appleton, illegally harvesting alewife, $100 fine.

    Aaron David Gervais, 34, of Westbrook, domestic violence assault, $500 fine.

    Carl Burton Edward Gross, 32, of Vinalhaven, criminal mischief, dismissed; violating condition of release, dismissed.

    Justin Hardesty, 33, of South China, probation violation of original conviction of operating under the influence (alcohol), one prior, 45 days in jail, probation partially revoked.

    Juvenile, of Warren, illegally harvesting alewife, $100 fine.

    Jason M. Libby, 44, of St. George, operating under the influence (alcohol)-no test, $600 fine, 90 days in jail, license suspended 90 days; probation violation for original conviction of aggravated criminal mischief, six months in jail, probation partially revoked, probation continued.

    Arthur C. Marriner, 53, of Rockland, assault, $300 fine; domestic violence assault, dismissed; terrorizing, dismissed; violating condition of release, two counts, 90 days in jail; domestic violence assault, priors; failing to make oral or written accident report, 60 days in jail. 

    According to an affidavit filed in court by the Knox County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Timothy Davis responded to an incident in St. George May 28. as the female victim was talking to a man who was sitting in a car, Marriner came out of the house, pushed the woman and struck her in the mouth, and then punched the man in the face.

    Marriner also threatened the female victim that he would beat her at her home.

    After Marriner struck the male victim he drove away, according to the affidavit.

    Marriner was arrested June 19 after an arrest warrant was secured June 11. He was transported to the Knox County Jail.

    Judge Paul Mathews ordered Marriner was ordered held without bail June 20 by Judge Paul Mathews in Knox County Unified Court until a hearing was held July 19 on a motion to revoke bail from an incident when he was arrested in April by Rockland Police.

    Ben Murdock, 35, of Monhegan, operating under the influence (alcohol)-no test, two priors, $1400 fine, three years in jail with all but six months suspended, probation two years, license suspended six years.

    Kristie J. Pass, 28, of Liberty, failure to register vehicle, $100 fine.

    John G. Ponte, 27, of Rockport, domestic violence terrorizing, $250 fine; disorderly conduct, loud unreasonable noise, $250 fine; refusing to submit to arrest or detention, physical force, $250 fine.

    Samantha Schrader, 23, of Topsham, probation violation for original conviction of domestic violence assault, 90 days in jail, probation partially revoked, probation continued.

    Jesse Ulvila, 33, of Appleton, criminal mischief, 48 hours in jail.

    Anthony N. Vitale Jr., 18, of Rockport, burglary of a motor vehicle in Rockport May 28, $350 fine; minor possessing liquor, $200 fine.

    Kristina D. Winchenbach, 39, of Rockland, unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, two counts, six years in jail with all but four months, 15 days suspended, probation two years.
