CAMDEN — Mid-Coast Audubon and Camden Public Library plan to host Kirk Gentelen for a program, Tracking Wildlife in Maine, on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 6:30 p.m., at the Camden Public Library.

This is a hybrid program and will take place in the Picker Room and on Zoom. To attend virtually, register in advance at librarycamden.org or by clicking this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_7enbOgTSRSa9EaLVKtZTcQ

Gentalen, the regional stewardship manager for the Midcoast for Maine Coast Heritage Trust, writes about the ecology of the area in his Nature Bummin’ blog. A self-described nature observer, one of his passions is tracking wildlife especially in winter. He can read their tracks like the news and figure out what the critters have been up to, according to a news release from Mid-Coast Aububon.

Gentalen takes care of the trust’s conserved lands on Vinalhaven and North Haven islands. That means taking care of trail and forestry needs and monitoring easements. He connects with island residents through environmental education, volunteering, and outreach programs.

Mid-Coast Audubon’s mission is to promote long-term, responsible use of natural resources through informed membership, education and community awareness.
