ROCKPORT — The successful Camden Hills boys tennis team will have a new face at the helm of the program this season.

Following the resignation of Noah Capetta, who guided the team for five seasons, the Windjammers have hired Jesse Simko as the team’s new head coach.

Simko is a familiar face in the Five Town community as the arena director at the Midcoast Recreation Center on Route 90 in Rockport.

As the arena director at the MRC, he oversees the operations of the arena, creates and manages the arena’s programs, hires and manages the arena staff and runs a skating development program for the Maine Coast Skaters Association, a youth ice hockey program.

Simko is a graduate of Thew Lawrenceville School, a private boarding school in New Jersey, and received his bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in business administration from the University of Maine in 2010.

In his five years at the helm, Capetta’s teams claimed consecutive Class B state championships in 2016 and 2017, while finishing as Class A state runner-ups in 2018.

Capetta stepped down from his post to move to the Cayman Islands, where he is a tennis instructor for Cayman Sports, Ltd.
