The Islesboro Police Department reported the following activity for the week of May 5-25, 2014. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt.

May 6

Public Safety Director Fred Porter conducted a property check at two properties on Wood Lane as a result of a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area. The properties were secure.

May 7

Porter assisted the Islesboro Fire Department with traffic Control at the intersection of Mill Creek, Ferry and West Bay roads during a structure fire.

May 8

Porter received an animal complaint on Marshall Cove Road regarding dogs roaming at large. A warning was given to the owner.

May 9

Porter assisted the Islesboro Fire Department at the scene of a grass fire on Meadow Pond Road.

May 14

Officer Nickolas Von Husen responded to Ruthie James Road for an animal complaint.

Von Husen responded to a motor vehicle complaint on Ferry Road. After an investigation, a summons was written May 15 to 27-year-old Meghan Delaney of Islesboro for driving to endanger, as well as a ticket for improper passing.

May 16

Von Husen was called to Meadow Pond Road for a report of gunshots. After investigation it was deemed to be fireworks being lit off on Main Road.

May 20

Von Husen responded to an information complaint involving a 911-disconnection call on Main Road. It was determined to be a misdial, and no emergency.

May 22

Von Husen received notice of an alarm activation on Main Road, which was cleared by the person responsible for the property.

NOTE: The Islesboro Department of Public Safety will be hosting child safety seat inspections Saturday, June 28. Islesboro Police Officer Nickolas Von Husen will inspect and give guidance on proper use of child safety seats and usage changes as children grow in size. Von Husen is a certified technician. Inspections will start at 10 a.m. and will be held at Islesboro Public Safety, 150 Main Road in Islesboro.
