WARREN — Warren Historical Society presents their holiday program 'I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day', featuring the Wiley family and their music, Monday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m., at the Brick School Community Center at 44 School Street, Warren.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Maine's own poet, had gained world fame over the years. During this time he suffered personal losses in his family leading to a time when he ceased to write poetry. On one Christmas morning, he heard the church bells ringing announcing the joyous season of Christmas. This poem was set to music and is still sung at this time of year.

Warren Historical Society's collection of Warren history may be seen at the Dr. Fred Campbell House and Museum at 225 Maine Street, Warren.
