‘Huge End-of-Summer Book Sale’ at Rockport Public Library

Event has passed

ROCKPORT — “As the dog days of summer wind down, it’s time to stock up on cozy fall reads for the chilly months ahead,” said The Friends of Rockport Public Library (FRPL), in a news release. FRPL will hold a huge book sale on Friday, August 25, and Saturday, August 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will take place in the lower level of the Rockport Public Library.

Thousands of gently used books, DVDs, CDs, puzzles, and more will be available — most items priced between $.50 and $5. Books will be sorted into topics like fiction, mystery, history, biography, cookbooks, art, Maine, children’s books, and “specials”. The selection will be refreshed regularly and will include new releases and rare finds, according to the release.

Become a member of the FRPL and save 10% on all sales. Annual memberships can be paid for at the library’s front desk or at any time during the book sale. Individual memberships are $15, family memberships are $20, and patron memberships are $50.

All proceeds from the sale will directly benefit the Rockport Public Library. The funds are used to purchase new library materials and supplies for youth and adult programs, multimedia resources, as well as technology and equipment for the library.

Only checks and cash will be accepted at the sale.

Volunteers are needed for help with set-up, cashiering, restocking, and clean-up. Please contact for library at 236-3642 for more information and to sign-up.
