Graveside services for Gerald W. Hews, 67, who passed away December 31, 2021, will be held Saturday, May 21, at 1 p.m., at Kinney Cemetery, in Brooks. 

BELFAST — Gerald “Buttons” Hew, Sr., 67, passed away December 31, 2021, at his residence in Belfast. He was born in Brooks, Maine January 5, 1954, to Floyd and Arlene (Cook) Hews.

Gerald worked in the poultry plants and for the railroad. He was a member of the Pocahontas, Sons of American Legion, Auxillary VFW, and Redman Hall. He loved to go bowling, fishing, and camping. He had many friends and enjoyed clowning around and dancing.

He is predeceased by both parents and a brother, Sonny; his children Gerald Hews Jr. and girlfriend Laurie Harvey of Belfast and Cherri Severson and husband MG of Union; his sisters Joyce Mitchell and Roxanne Staples, both of Belfast, four grandchildren, Kelsey, Annferney, Landin and Jayden; many nieces and nephews, and favorite niece Lauri Jewett.

Celebration of Life will be held January 22, 2022, at 1 p.m., at the American Legion in Belfast.
