More and more, people are turning to Craigslist to sell, buy, barter and give away myriad categories of goods and services. Following is a verbatim sampling — typos and all — of some of the posts we found in the "free" category this past week.

Many of the posts are the usual stuff - slightly broken old televisions, furniture and chickens. And someone is always giving away free hangers. This week, there was a free mobile home, a waveless double waterbed, six wood-framed windows circa 1900, cans of opened and use paints, and a bevy of already opened and partially-used beauty products from a New Gloucester resident who is "going green." Craigslist Maine has these and more, all for free. Really, it does. We kid you not.

SIX [ 6 ] wood window frames. 6 panes of glass. 21-1/2" X 25 ". In fair to good condition, needs cleaning, glazing, painting. You could make a small hot house for your jump on spring seedlings ! These frames were made by E.L.Reed , Wood Working, Woolwich around 1900 by my grandfather. FREE !

FREE Leather Furniture w/Table and Computer Armoire (Lincolnville)
We have some used furniture available for free... matching dark green leather couch and easy chair, brown leather recliner, good sized dark brown wooden coffee table with glass inserts and black computer armoire. Condition seems decent but does have some scratches from pets. Was left behind by tenant who moved out. Bring some help if you want it...

Bottles (Scarborough)
We have approximately 50 empty 4-gallon bottles of water. I was saving them for a project but didn't have enough time. These are non-deposit bottles - there is no refund, so you will not get any money for them. These are nice for a farm (maybe to store grains/seeds or cut in half and make bowls to feed animals or to use as planters) There are so many ideas and project you could use them. Take 10 or take all of them!!!!

I have a broken Pro-Form treadmill. I does not work and I do not know what the issue is with it. If you would like it for repair/parts or even scrap metal.....it's yours. My wife and I will get it out of the house and on the front porch. I can help load it if needed. Otherwise it is going to the transfer station and they can get rid of it.

Non-working Proform 390e Elliptical (Windham)
We have a very lightly used Proform 390e Elliptical (from Sears) that I tried plugging the control box into a wall adapter that was rated too high voltage so the main board fried. The rest of the unit is fine. I've sourced the replacement electrical circuit board for it through Sears and it's $200. We've already purchased other exercise equipment so we won't be fixing this one. This elliptical was over $500 when we bought it a few years ago! It's easily repaired with just a new circuit board. Come and get it! I'll help you load it and for a small fee I can deliver it too, if need be.

3" Packaging Tape 5 large rolls (South Windham)
5 (450' each) rolls of 3" wide reinforced kraft packaging tape. Normally used in a tape dispenser, this brand jams our dispenser so we can't use it. It you moisten the tape with a damp sponge, you can use it without a dispenser.

Large Plastic Discs/Covers (South Windham)
Made from white weather resistant plastic (won't yellow from exposure to sunlight), the 3 large covers are 25.75" diameter and .095" thick, and about 3" deep (they have a slight cone shape). The 5 small covers are 14" diameter and .047 thick, and about 1.6"deep.
