Five Town Little League opening day ceremony

Camden Lions Club’s Peter Martin threw out the ceremonial first pitch at this year’s Five Town Little League Opening Day Ceremonies Saturday, April 30, at Marge Jones Recreational Facility. ROCKPORT — The Five Town Little League held their season opening celebration Saturday, April 30 at the Marge Jones Recreational Facility.
The ceremony happens each year and serves as a grand kickoff to the season. Games started at 9 a.m. with the final game of the day starting around 4 p.m. Two softball teams from Medomak that play interleague with Five Town were also on hand to celebrate in the ceremony.
Each year a dignitary of the Five Town area throws out the first pitch. This year that honor went to Peter Martin, a member of the Camden Lion's Club, the longest continuous sponsor of Little League baseball in the community.
