Estelle Beverage Libby, obituary
HOPE — Estelle Beverage Libby, age 103, died on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
She was born in Camden, Maine, October 9, 1922, a daughter to Leroy and Marjorie Mank Beverage. She grew up in Hope where she attended a one room School at Hope Corner and was a graduate of Camden High School in 1941. As a girl, she was a member of the 4-H club and later a past member of Hope Grange and a charter member of R.F.D. Club of Hope and a member of the Appleton and Liberty Senior citizens club.
She always loved music and singing and sang at many gatherings and public events. She married Malcolm Libby in January 1946 and together they raised seven children. She worked at many odd jobs over the years until her youngest began school. It was then that Estelle began a 22-year career with MSAD #28 where she worked in the food service department until she retired.
She was predeceased by her husband, Malcolm Libby; sister Dorothy Brownell; brothers, Elroy and Hartley Beverage; her son David Libby; and two daughters, Sylvia Soucier and Cynthia Tuplin.
She is survived by four sons, Barry Libby and his wife Pam, Alan Libby, Dennis Libby and his wife Tonya, Douglas Libby and his wife Faith; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Libby; son-in-law Gilman Soucier; along with 15 grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Edith Brown and Alma Tilly; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held Friday, July 10, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Pine Grove Cemetery in Appleton, Maine.
Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, Rockland.
