David E. Burnham, obituary

David E. Burnham, 73, of Waldoboro, passed away unexpectedly on November 30, 2017 at LincolnHealth in Damariscotta, with his family by his side.  He was born on March 18, 1944 in Waldoboro to Elmer Burnham and Marguerite (Bell) Burnham.

David was a graduate of Waldoboro High School.  He worked at the Paragon Button Factory.  He also worked at Bath Iron Works for 40 years as a NDT technician working on Navy ships until he retired in 2006.

He loved horses, fishing and hunting. David was unique, a private man, and had an old school behavior.  He enjoyed conversation with family and friends while having a cigarette and cup of coffee.  He attended the Word of Life Church in Waldoboro.

David was predeceased by his parents, son Wayne Burnham, daughter Doreen Burnham, brother Robert Burnham and sister Evelyn Bailey.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marlene Burnham, of Waldoboro; daughter Wendy Flaherty and husband Ivan of Waldoboro; grandchildren Danica Daniello of Warren; Victoria Taber and companion Carleton Grey, of Warren; Ryan Flaherty, of Waldoboro; Chelsea Burnham, of Waldoboro; Dustin Burnham, of Waldoboro; Brooke Burnham, of Warren; four great grandchildren, Kylie Robbins of Waldoboro, Lorelei Daniello of Warren, Zayden Burnham of Waldoboro, Patience Rockwell of Warren and sister Marlene Luce of Waldoboro; sister-in-laws Deborah Benner Miller of Waldoboro, Veronica Anderson and husband Larry of Cornville, brothers-in-law Ronald Benner of Wells, Gary Benner and wife Rhonda of Friendship, Norman Benner and wife Dawn of Friendship and Sonny Staples of Washington. 

Visiting hours will be Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main Street, in Waldoboro.  A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main Street, in Waldoboro.
