MORRILL — A Community Square Dance Party and concert are planned for Sunday, Feb. 16, at the Morrill Community Center (the old Honesty Grange 83), 4 North Main Street, Morrill, ME 04952.
The band for this month’s concert and dance is “Beat Bucket,” which includes Molly Gawler with fiddle and vocals and Shepsi Eaton with piano and vocals. The caller will be Chris Ricciotti with guest callers Molly Gawler and Shepsi Eaton.
At 2 p.m., Gawler and Eaton will provide a musical concert on piano, fiddle, guitar and voice with humorous and vaudevillian surprises. Following this, at 4 p.m., will be the Community Square Dance Party, with more fun and lively community square dances with caller Chris Ricciotti with Gawler and Eaton as guest callers. Following this, at 6 p.m., will be a potluck, and time for singing for those who would like to do this.
These dances are open to all and are welcoming and inclusive. All dances are taught. No prior experience or partners needed. Families and kids are welcome.
Admission is sliding scale $10 - $20, extra donations are welcome. No one will be turned away on their ability to pay. Volunteers are needed to help at the dance. Please let Chris Ricciotti know ahead of time if you can help. Anyone who volunteers, gets in for free.
