Local Students Make the Dean's Honor List at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

TROY, NY (06/13/2023) — The following students have made the Dean's Honor List for the Spring 2023 semester at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York:

Annika Bragg of Winterport is studying Mechanical Engineering

Lillian Nelson of Camden is studying Architecture

Acer Van Dis of Union is studying Architecture

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Dean's Honor List is compiled at the end of each semester to recognize undergraduate students who have completed 12 or more credit hours with a 3.5 grade point average or better for that term. During the course of almost two centuries, Rensselaer has built a reputation for providing an education of undisputed intellectual rigor based on educational innovation in the laboratory, classroom, and studio.

Elaine Landry of Thomaston Named to Muhlenberg College Spring 2023 Dean's List

ALLENTOWN, PA (06/13/2023) — Congratulations to Elaine Landry of Thomaston (04861) for being named to the Muhlenberg College Dean's List for the Spring 2023 semester.

Muhlenberg College students and Muhlenberg College School of Continuing Studies students with a term GPA of 3.50 or higher were recognized for this academic achievement.

Claire Lerner of Camden 04843 was named to the Dean's List at Lehigh University in the Spring 2023 semester

BETHLEHEM, PA (06/14/2023) — Dean's List status, which is awarded to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses, has been granted to Claire Lerner in the Spring 2023 semester.

Efstathia Bixhaku of Rockland is Awarded Degree from American International College

SPRINGFIELD, MA (06/15/2023) — Efstathia Bixhaku, of Rockland ME, has been awarded a Master of Science from American International College (AIC) in Springfield, MA. Efstathia joins all of AIC's 2023 graduates in receiving well-deserved congratulations for their achievements.

Founded in 1885, American International College (AIC) is a private, co-educational, doctoral granting institution located in Springfield, Massachusetts, comprising the School of Business, Arts and Sciences, the School of Education, and the School of Health Sciences. Belfast's Amy Gaiero among the 6,500 students to graduate this spring from the University of Iowa

IOWA CITY, IA (06/15/2023) — In May more than 6,500 University of Iowa undergraduate, graduate, and professional students received degrees. These Hawkeyes have engaged, excelled, and stretched to reach their goals.

Amy Gaiero, of Belfast, Maine was among the students conferred their degrees. Gaiero was a student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences whose program of study was Sustainability Science. The degree awarded was a Bachelor of Science.

Similar to Gaiero, take, for example, McKenna Warnock. She helped lead the Hawkeye women's basketball team to the national championship game and plans to continue her studies after graduation to become a dentist.

Or Tyler Humphreys, who followed in his grandfather's and uncle's footsteps and enrolled at Iowa. He's earning a JD and heading back home to Texas to join the Dallas County District Attorney's Office.

Or Daniel McGregor-Huyer. He completed Iowa's REACH program in 2020 but then decided to apply as a traditional student. He'll be getting a BA in cinematic arts and a certificate in disability studies and plans to travel to Ghana with the REACH program.

Or Mara Frieden. She's graduating with a double major in marketing and management and a minor in communication studies and has a job waiting for her on the product launch team at John Deere.

Year after year, students like these and like Gaiero have pushed to achieve more and to come together for the greater good-that's the Hawkeye Way. As this cohort of new graduates enters the next stage of their lives, they leave campus full of potential and promise.

Belfast's Amy Gaiero named to University of Iowa dean's list for 2023 spring semester

IOWA CITY, IA (06/16/2023) — Amy Gaiero of Belfast, Maine was among the more than 7,100 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa named to the dean's list for the 2023 spring semester.

Gaiero is a undergraduate - fourth year student in Iowa's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and is majoring in Sustainability Science.

Dean's list status was earned by 968 first-year undergraduates during the 2023 spring semester at Iowa, only 1,604 second-year students, only 1,922 third-year students, and only 2,630 fourth-year students.

Guidelines for inclusion on the list are:

Degree seeking undergraduate students in the Carver College of Medicine, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Education, the College of Engineering, the College of Public Health, the Tippie College of Business, and University College who achieve a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher on 12 semester hours or more of UI graded coursework during a given semester or summer session and who have no semester hours of "I" (incomplete) or "O" (no grade reported) during the same semester are recognized by inclusion on the dean's list for that semester

Undergraduate students in the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine may qualify for the dean's list with fewer than 12 semester hours of graded credit, if deemed appropriate by the college

College of Nursing students participating in clinical courses who have a total of 12 semester hours of earned credit, with eight semester hours of graded credit with a GPA of 3.50 or higher

Please note that courses offered on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory (S/U) or pass/fail (P/F) basis do not count toward graded credit for inclusion on the dean's list.


Bryce Tyler, of Camden, Earns Spot on SUNY Potsdam Dean's List

POTSDAM, NY (06/14/2023) — The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named Bryce Tyler of Camden, Maine to the SUNY Potsdam Dean's List.

Tyler, whose major is Speech Communication, was among 188 students who were honored for academic excellence in the Spring 2023 semester.

To achieve the honor of being on the Dean's List, each student must have satisfactorily completed 12 numerically-graded semester hours, with a grade point average of between 3.25 and 3.49 in the given semester.

SUNY Potsdam athlete Bryce Tyler named to SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll for 2022-23 season

POTSDAM, N.Y. (06/16/2023) — Bryce Tyler, a resident of Camden, Maine was one of 123 SUNY Potsdam student-athletes to earn a spot on the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll for the 2022-23 school year, the conference announced this morning.

Tyler is a senior member of the SUNY Potsdam Men's Lacrosse team and a Business Administration major. Athletes named to the academic honor roll had a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA for the year.
